Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott Defeats Democrat Beto O’Rourke in a Landslide Victory

Gov. Greg Abbott’s dominating re-election victory proved once again that Texas remains a red state despite Democratic strongholds in Harris County and along a blue spine that runs the length of Interstate 35. While Democrat Beto O’Rourke won Harris County and counties along The Blue Spine, his margins in both were half what they were four years ago when he ran for the U.S. Senate, dooming any chance he had of becoming the first Democratic governor in Texas in nearly 30 years.

O’Rourke has burned nearly $200 million running three different failed campaigns in just four years. In other words he’s gonna run again.
