New York City Mayor Eric Adams urged officials not to rush to judgment amid protests over a video showing a white man fatally choking a Black homeless man in an altercation on the subway system. Jordan Neely, 30 years old, was pronounced dead after an unidentified 24-year-old man placed him in a headlock Monday afternoon on a subway train in lower Manhattan, according to officials and video posted to social media. The 24-year-old passenger was taken into custody for questioning by officers but wasn’t charged, the police said.
Unfortunately if Neely was in prison, as he should’ve been for many of the crimes he had committed, he’d still be alive today.
