Peter Meijer, Freshman Republican Who Impeached Trump, Defeated in Primary

Michigan Rep. Peter Meijerwho witnessed the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection days after taking office and then cast one of the 10 Republican votes to impeach Donald Trump over it, has lost his reelection bid. Meijer was defeated in a primary Tuesday by Trump-endorsed John Gibbs, a businessman and missionary who served in the Trump administration under Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson.

Funny checking out Never Trumpers crying about Meijer’s loss when the truth is that it as much to do with his support for puttimng gender identity in civil rights law, the J2 committee and red flag laws *yunno, things Republican voters don’t like) as much as it had to do with his vote to impeach Trump.
