Washington Commanders DC Jack Del Rio Fined $100,000 for Stating ‘Wrong’ Opinion on Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol Invasion

The Washington Commanders have fined defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio $100,000 after his comments earlier in the week that referred to the events of Jan. 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol as a “dustup” and compared that day to “riots, looting, burning” during protests in the summer of 2020. In a statement, Washington coach Ron Rivera said he met with Del Rio on Friday morning to express his disappointment in the coordinator’s comments.

Of xourse if Del Rio had said that January 6 was akin to 9/11 and one of the worst events that ever took plave in this country, he would’ve been celebrated by everyone and had an award named after him. But Del Rio was dumb enough to think that free speech was a right in the U.S.A. and like everyone he could state an opinion that didn’t harm nobody even if some people didn’t like it. Well, he was clearly wrong.
