Former Miami Dolphins Coach Brian Flores Files Lawsuit Against NFL For Racial Discrimination

Former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores is suing the National Football League for racial discrimination. After being fired by the Dolphins last month, it appeared to be a forgone conclusion that Flores would land another job, but that now appears very unlikely. Flores was reportedly one of three finalist for the New York Giants head coaching opening, a job that eventually went to former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.

The NFL’s Rooney Rule makes it mandatory that NFL teams at the very least interview’s one minority for open coordinator or head coaching jobs. So considering that how many fat, white dudes we’ve seen get jobs of late (as an aside, why are teams in such a hurry to hire head coaches when the playoffs aren’t even done yet), Flores could have a case.
