Supreme Court Refuses to Block Covid-19 Vaccination Requirements for NY Health Care Workers Who Seek Religious Exemption

The Supreme Court on Monday refused to block a New York regulation that requires health care workers to get the COVID-19 vaccine without any religious exemptions. The vaccine mandate for health care workers, which went into effect in August, allows only for medical exemptions but not religious ones. The Supreme Court turned away two applications from doctors and nurses in the state for injunctive relief to allow religious exemptions while litigation continues in the lower courts over the mandate’s constitutionality.

To think, all the grief Justice Sotomayor gives her conservative colleagues on the bench for daring to disagree with her and its Barrett and Kavanaugh who side with her here and she won’t have a damn thing to say about that. Of course, this ruling will lead to many desperately needed health care workers quitting their jobs, but if you’re an advocate for vaccine mandates and already got your shots, what do you care?
