Democrats Have Known What Joe Manchin’s Ceiling On Infrastructure Bill Was Since July

Sen. Joe Manchin is floating a $1.5 trillion topline for the hotly debated multi-trillion-dollar reconciliation package after a new report revealed he warned Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer that he would only support that number earlier this summer. In July, Manchin (D-W.V.) and Schumer (D-NY) came to an agreement to start debate on the budget reconciliation “no earlier than October 1, 2021,” with a topline of $1.5 trillion, according to a copy of the agreement obtained by POLITICO.

So Schumer basically allowed Manchin to get abused by Progressives and other mental midgets online this whole time, knowing full well that Manchin had already provided a number that the Dems leader could work with.
